6 Essential ‘Power Foods’ for Men

Sharing is caring!

Men have a specific set of needs when it comes to nutrition. Because men are generally
more active than their female counterparts, they must eat foods that provide sustainable
energy that will last for prolonged periods of time.

Aside from that, men should also consume foods that can help reduce heart disease
and improve blood flow so as to not lead to erectile dysfunction, among many other conditions.

In today’s article, I will be talking about some essential power foods that men should
consume on a regular basis. Do keep in mind that these foods work best when taken in
conjunction with the best supplements for men. So, without further ado, let’s get started!

Goji Berries

The first power food on this list is not known for its rich nutrient profile, but it is definitely
well-known for its powerful properties.

Goji berries are a staple in Asian medicine simply because it can help reduce the risk of
bladder and lung problems, as well as reduce the levels of bad cholesterol and raise the
levels of good cholesterol in the body too.

They can be found in many Asian stores and you can easily incorporate them into your
diet. If the taste is not good for you, you can order goji juice instead.

Kale

This is not a known vegetable in some parts of the world, but if it is available in your
local stores, it is definitely a good addition to your diet.

Kale is a superfood mainly because it contains a lot of nutrients that are perfect for a
man’s body, including Vitamins A and C, iron, calcium, potassium, and folate. In
addition, it is also known to contain carotenoids such as lutein and beta-carotene which
helps improve eyesight and prevents several types of cancers too.

As a tip, only chop or tear down the said vegetable only minutes away from serving to
preserve its Vitamin C content.

Teff

You may not have heard of this, but Teff is actually the smallest grain in the world. But,
as the saying goes, big things come in small packages and that applies to this as well.

Teff is actually an Amharic term for “lost” but the word actually doesn’t give it justice.
That is because this grain is rich in fiber and unlike other grains, it is gluten-free.

Kefir

This fermented beverage has the same benefits to that of Yogurt only that Kefir also
helps satiate you for longer periods of time.

It can help improve your gut health as it contains probiotics and it is also known to boost
your immune system, as well as reduce your cholesterol levels.

Agave

If you are the type of man that wants sweet foods (like I do), it is best that you don’t opt
for table sugar, but you go for the alternatives instead.

One alternative is Agave as its nectar is a known sweetener. It not only has fewer
calories than regular sugar but the body actually digests it much slower, giving you
more sustained energy.

Nori

Do you regularly eat sushi? If so, you are in luck because you are probably eating
healthier than other men. The dark outer wrapping is actually made of sea algae known
as Nori but despite it being some algae, it actually provides a lot of nutrients to the body.

It contains calcium, fiber, zinc, and iron and its taste can easily blend well with sushi and
noodles if you are into those foods.
